Meet Your Line Dance Instructor

Hi, I'm Jen Glavosek

I learned line dancing from a long-time teacher turned friend and have adopted my own teaching style along the way.

When I’m not having a blast on the dance floor, I can usually be found camping, at the beach or enjoying a great book. I love family time and making memories with my husband, kids and five grandchildren!

My Experience

In 2013, I convinced my beloved husband to try a local line dance class as a fun “evening out” activity. That first night, we had no idea what we had gotten ourselves into! We stuck with it, practiced many a dance in our kitchen and here we are today, dancing more dances than we can count!

My progression from student to teacher happened gradually-first I became a point person (someone to watch and assist from the back row), then lead classes here and there when our teacher had other commitments and eventually took over completely when she retired and moved out of state.

My Philosophy

“Dancing with your feet is one thing, but dancing with your heart is another.” This is the best way I can describe my teaching philosophy. Never take it too seriously and don’t worry about others watching you-dancing is meant to be a fun way to express yourself!

Repetition of dances throughout the month helps us learn them together. If you don’t understand a step, just say so and we’ll go through it together again-chances are, there are others with the same question! I really strive to make sure all my students understand each step before moving on! I teach students from sixteen to eighty-five!

Many people think line dancing is simply fancy steps to country western music but it is SO much more! We dance to all genres of music, even some holiday themed music at Halloween and Christmas. It is a mentally and physically stimulating activity that anyone can have fun with.

Not only is line dancing a great cardio exercise but it has wonderful cognitive benefits too! Learning step combinations enhances brain health and reduces stress at the same time.
